On & In The Water

Whether it’s paddling or fishing, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the coast, burns and lochans of the area.

On those still, warmer days the bays of Sanna provide a perfect place for water sports in general and when the mackerel are in season, nothing beats catching your supper off the rocks moments from your front door!

Kayakers, paddle boarders and kite surfers will find options in most wind directions and the gently sloping beaches make launch and recovery straightforward. We are regularly out on the water ourselves, so please don’t hesitate to chat to us about your plans, as we may be able to offer some helpful local knowledge or weather forecast.  The Alt Sanna burn runs past the Hut and you have access to fish the south bank, down to the sea pool. There are brown trout there and sea trout have been returning in recent years. Sea fishing is possible off the rocks towards Sanna Point.

Ardnamurchan Estate has numerous lochs and lochans that can be fished for brown trout. A permit for these can be obtained from the Ferry Stores in Kilchoan.
